MOSES LAKE - Are you an upcoming bride, the bride's parents, or members of the wedding party?

Then check out the Columbia Basin Herald's Bridal Show, planned for Feb. 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Big Bend Community College's ATEC Center.

Admission is free.

The show features a variety of wedding businesses, including florists, disc jockey services, event venues, caterers, wedding cake bakers, invitation services, tuxedo stores, entertainment offerings and hair dressers.

"It's a one-stop shop," said Lynn Garza, the Columbia Basin Herald's event coordinator. "There's also going to be a resource guide printed that will have all of the vendors listed in it."

The average wedding cost is nearly $20,000, she said.

"It's a memory forever," she said. "People spend a great deal of money. There's so many things that go into planning and carrying out a wedding. For anyone who provides services that cater to that, it provides such great exposure to their businesses."

Home-based businesses, such as seamstresses, are also at the show and weight-loss products are offered.

Advance wedding planning allows the bride to learn about the costs involved with such an event and what types of resources are available.

"The nice thing about the wedding show, is there's more than one vendor in each category," she said.

It means brides can compare all products and then try and find something that fits within their budget.

Garza expects more than a 1,000 people to attend the event.

The event doesn't just draw brides. Their moms and the bridal party also attend.

"They loved the fashion show and the free giveaways," she said of last year's event. "Every booth had some type of free giveaway."

Participants can also enter to win a weekend stay at the Coeur d'Alene Resort.
