OTHELLO - It wasn't easy, but the Othello Huskies found a way to stay unbeaten in the CWAC with a 40-29 win over Grandview last night.

"We won some close matches that we were hoping to win for seeding, but we also lost a few that we felt we could win," Othello head coach Ruben Martinez said. "I guess we have to be happy with the win knowing that we still have a few holes in our line-up and we are asking first time varsity wrestlers to fill in."

Four pin victories were nailed down by Lucas Garza (119 pounds, first round), Matt Jordan (140 pounds, first round), Stevie Garza (160 pounds, first round), and Joey Gomez (215 pounds, second round).

Othello also earned a forfeit win at 171-pounds.

Three Huskies were pinned but helping make up some of those lost points came via Eric Garza's 10-2 win at 140 pounds, Eddie Garza's tough 3-0 victory at 152 pounds, and through Alberto Vargas' 3-2 escape at 189 pounds.
