Bulldogs' Belgarde second at Clearwater Classic

LEWISTON - Sandpoint's Garret Belgarde lost by a 9-4 decision to Josh Carlton of Lewiston in the 119 pound championship of the Clearwater Classic at Lewis-Clark State College on Saturday.

Lakeland's Tyson Hendricks finished third at 103 pounds with a decision over Josh Tucker of Bonners Ferry as the Hawks finished 13th in the 29 team tournament.

Blaine Invernon of Bonners Ferry fell to Felip Contreas of Caldwell 10-3 in the third-fourth match at 119 pounds.

Payton Dillard (112), Kyle Csizmar (140) and Matt Lockey (215) of Sandpoint each placed fifth.

Lewiston won the team championship with 234.5 points, followed by Caldwell with 230. Sandpoint finished seventh with 112.5, followed by Bonners Ferry with 106.
