MANSFIELD - Now, that's, much, much better.

Following a disappointing loss in Wenatchee at Cascade Christian only two nights earlier, the Moses Lake Christian Academy Lions traveled to Mansfield on Saturday to hopefully get back on track against their fellow North Central Washington 1B league heavies.

When the game finally came to an end, it was the Academy that appeared alot more buff and Mansfield obviously were on a diet as the Lions regained top dog status with a resounding 60-39 win.

"We played an all around, good game, with another great effort by all of our players," Lions head coach Duke Wood said. "We come out a bit tight knowing that this was a big game for both teams, especially with the winner taking sole possession of first place.

After the first quarter the Lions led 21-15 before doubling their advantage at 38-26 by intermission.

"I think the guys where very well focused at the challenge and well prepared," Woos said. "We talked about getting everybody's best effort, and we had to match that effort for four quarters which I thought we did."

The Academy's Joe Timofeyev led the team with 25 points, six steals, and three assists, while Connor Webb added 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Isaac Murrell pitched in for the Lions with a nine point, three rebound, performance.

"I was glad to see us bounce back after a rough game at Cascade Christian," Wood said. "I think we responded well and took a step forward.  I believe the quickness and constant pressure which forced 20 Mansfield turnovers was a key to our success."
