HELENA - Glacier's big comeback came up just short as Helena Capital survived with strong shooting at the free-throw line on Saturday, defeating the Wolfpack 58-49 in Western AA conference girls basketball.

The Wolfpack (6-6 overall, 0-4 in conference) rallied from a 16-point deficit to make it a one-possession game, but Capital pulled away with free throws, going 8-for-8 in the final four minutes.

"It was a battle going to play two against the top teams in our conference," Glacier head coach Kris Salonen said. "Both Helena High and Helena Capital are very competitive. But we were able to compete with them."

The Wolfpack, which lost to Helena on Friday, was led offensively by Cassidy Hashley's 14 points. Paige Latimer scored 10 and Nicole Heavirland added eight.
