As the new Whitefish Community Library opens, library board members are seeking input from the public about library services.

Library board members and employees want to “sustain the library as a center of community activity through offering programs and services the library patrons desire,” board member Alison Pomerantz said.

To gather that input, a community survey has been prepared, she said.

It includes questions about how often people visit the library, what hours they’d like the library to be open, what programs they’d like implemented and what books they’d like to see on the shelves. The survey also is designed to gauge volunteer interest.

The survey will be available from today through Sept. 30. People may pick up a copy at the library during the July 16 library celebration at Depot Park in Whitefish, at the weekly farmers’ market and at booths planned during other upcoming community events.

The names of everyone who returns a survey will be entered into a drawing for prizes from McGarry’s Roadhouse restaurant, Bookworks and Sweet Peaks ice cream shop.
