COEUR d'ALENE - Joe Roletto had four hits and three runs scored in an 18-4 win over the Cloverdale Spurs of British Columbia as the Lumbermen improved to 2-0 in pool play at the Spokane-Coeur d'Alene Wood Bat Classic on Saturday night at McEuen Field.
The Lumbermen's second game on Saturday night, vs. Rainier Legion of Graham, Wash., was still in progress as The Press went to press.
Ransom Storm struck out four in five innings for Coeur d'Alene (26-11) against Cloverdale.

Prairie drops two at tourney
SPOKANE - The Prairie Cardinals lost 5-1 to the Billings Scarlets and 13-6 to the Kennewick Bandits on Saturday at Jackson Field at the Spokane-Coeur d'Alene Wood Bat Classic, slipping to 1-3 in their pod.
In the first game, Zack Reeder doubled in Kurt South in the top of the fifth inning to tie the game at 1 for Prairie. But Billings scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the inning on a throwing error, and got a three-run triple in the sixth to break it open.
"We played very well that game; we just made two mistakes and they capitalized on them," Prairie coach Dustin Frank said. "Kurt South threw out three guys from center field trying to score."
Against Kennewick, Bordyn Grieser hit an RBI double and Joe Schwalbach followed with a two-run single to put Prairie up 3-1 in the second.
With the Cardinals trailing 9-3 in the fifth, Derek Tymesen hit a two-run double, and scored on a grounder by Riley Denney to pull Prairie within 9-6. With runners at second and third, Schwalbach nearly got a looper to left to fall and drive in two runs, but Kennewick's third baseman ranged into short left field to make the catch.
Prairie (14-16) concludes tourney play tonight vs. the Spokane Blue Devils at 7 at Jackson Field. Only each pod winner advances to the championship round Monday.
