HELENA - The Kalispell Lakers drove home on Monday night as champions of the Keith Sell Tournament.
The Lakers wrapped up a 5-0 weekend by defeating the Edmonton Cards 10-5 in the championship game.
Sid Schenck picked up the win for Kalispell.
Michael O'Connell was 3-for-4 at the plate with a triple, a double and three RBI and Joe Pistorese was 3-for-5 with two RBI.
"I'm just really proud of the kids," the Lakers coach Ryan Malmin.
"The pitching staff did a great job of keeping us in ballgames and our offense was good all weekend," he said.
The Lakers were down 4-3 after three innings, but scored four runs in the top of the fourth to take a lead they would not relinquish. They added three more runs in the top of the seventh to put the final nails in the Cards' coffin.
Kalispell had nine hits in the championship game.
"It's good to see the success we've had in the tournaments this year, especially for our three seniors (Pistorese, Michael O'Connell and Dominic Eickert)," the coach said.
