SAGLE - A Lewiston man died Sunday on Garfield Bay Cutoff Road when his all-terrain vehicle left the roadway and collided with a culvert, according to Idaho State Police.

Kirk W. Tate, 38, was northbound at 7:19 p.m. on a 2005 Polaris ATV, about 0.6 miles south of Sagle Road, when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, police said. The ATV traveled off the road and hit a culvert in a ditch.

Tate was ejected from the ATV and sustained fatal injuries, police said. He was not wearing a helmet when the crash occurred.
