Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 13 years, 6 months AGO
Oct. 31, 1938 - July 5, 2011
On July 5, 2011, Erma Beth Farmer (Helm) walked into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ after a very long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mom (Gram or Gabe) was born Oct. 31, 1938, at the Blackberry Inn in New Meadows to Emery Alexander Helm and Helen Lucille Helm (Henderson). She graduated from Glenns Ferry High School in 1956.
With great strength and determination she created a new life for her and her children when she moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1974. She began her banking career at First Security Bank lasting 27 years where she made many lifelong friends. She retired in 2001.
She is survived by her three children: Kelly B. Jensen (Farmer), Lance D. Farmer, Leslie A. Pleger (Farmer) and son-in-law Earl W. Pleger.
She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Bobby, Jacob, Jillian, Tawni, Cassidy, Kayla, Mark and Ayla; her six great-grandchildren: Alycia, Levi, Kyelin, Kenna and two due this year.
She is also survived by her three siblings: Asa H. Helm, Emery W. Helm and wife Pam, and Verna C. Helm and husband Harold.
Her greatest loves were her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; her family; her beloved late, kitty Scout; her church family; her quilting group and many more dear friends.
Though our pain is great, our joy is in knowing that she is in the arms of the Lord and we have certainty that we will be together again.
Psalm 116:15 — Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Godly ones.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Hayden Bible Church, 290 E. Miles Ave., Hayden, 772-2511.
English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d’Alene, is in charge of the arrangements. Please sign Erma’s online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
