EPHRATA - Grant County Sheriff's deputies are searching for two men who allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint in George early Sunday morning.

Around 2:10 a.m., deputies responded to West Montmorency Boulevard in George where a 31-year-old man from George was sitting in a parked car with another man when a light-colored Honda four-door passenger car pulled up alongside.

Two men, one wielding a shotgun, allegedly got out of the Honda and confronted the victims, according to Sheriff's Chief Deputy Ryan Rectenwald. During the confrontation, a wallet was stolen.

One of the assailants fired the shotgun once and a victim may have been struck by pellets from the blast, Rectenwald said. When deputies arrived the possibly injured man had left and deputies were unable to locate him.

There was no evidence of a shotgun being fired and Rectenwald said no people with any gunshot-type injuries were found to be admitted to hospitals.

The theft victim was not fully cooperative with deputies and the investigation continues, he said.

Suspect one is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20s with a heavy build and wearing baggy clothes.

Suspect two is described as a Hispanic male in his late teens with a smaller build, dark complexion and a mustache.

The suspects' vehicle is reported as a light-colored Honda sedan, possible model year 1998 or 1999.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Grant County Sheriff's Office at 509-754-2011 ext. 468, or email an anonymous tip to crimetips@co.grant.wa.us. Tipsters do not need to give their name.
