Christian Youth Theater, the largest theater arts training program in the country, is having its annual expo in Coeur d'Alene on July 12-16.
"We're excited about this year's expo in North Idaho. It's going to be a great time of not only getting together with CYT affiliates from across the nation, but also an opportunity to participate in some incredible workshops," said CYT co-founder Sheryl Russell. "It's such an energizing synergy that brings us together, and makes us feel like we are one big family. It's exciting to know we have the same Vision, Mission and Purpose."
This year's expo, Moose Tracks 2011, will include an improvisation competition with teams coming from CYTs across the nation and Canada, an "Improv'aPlay" which gives students the chance to perform a production in a day and a conference.
The Improv'aPlay, Friday, July 15 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. and the Talent Show, CYT's Got Talent, July 16 from 7-9 p.m. are open to the public and admission is free.
The Improvathon Finals are on Thursday, July 14 from 6:30-10:30 p.m. and are also open to the public and admission is $10. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the CYT website: www.cyt.org/expo-registration or at the door. All performances will be at the Best Western Coeur d'Alene Inn.
CYT-North Idaho opened in Coeur d'Alene in the summer of 2007.
