Financial milestones

Joe Coco’s WealthMASTERS course offers several “milestones” in a plan for navigating life’s financial demands:

1. Save up $1,000 in emergency savings.

2. Pay off all your debts.

3. Save three to six months’ worth of expenses in an emergency fund.

4. Save for and buy a home.

5. Start saving for retirement or for your children’s college expenses.

6. Once that is well under way, make accelerated payments to pay off the mortgage on your home.

7. Buy real estate or invest your money.

8. Once you’re financially secure and are working because you want to, not because you need to, give back. Use your money to create jobs and ministries.
