Former Gonzaga guard Rillie to join staff at BSU

BOISE - Boise State men's basketball coach Leon Rice announced the promotion of John Rillie to assistant coach and addition of Chris Cobbina to the staff as director of basketball operations.

Rillie had served as director of basketball operations for the Broncos this past season and fills the position vacated by Shaun Vandiver, who was named coach at Emporia State earlier this summer.

Rillie played for Gonzaga for three seasons, where he helped lead the Bulldogs to their first NCAA tournament appearance in school history in 1995 and a NIT berth in 1994. Following his college career, Rillie spent 16 years playing professional basketball internationally, representing Australia in the 2004 Athens Olympics.
