Fun run for 'Cats cross-country team

The Columbia Falls cross-country program will holds its second annual Cross Country Cruise, a 6K fun run at the high school on July 23 at 9 a.m. Proceeds from the race will benefit the high school cross-country program.

Runners can register the day of the race from 7 to 8:30 a.m. or online at www.runmontana.com. Cost is $15 per runner or $40 for a family or four. Cost to register on race day is $20. For more information, call Richard Menicke at 871-3375.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
