Esch doubles up in broncs
The Daily Inter Lake | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 14 years, 5 months AGO
Gerald Esch had a perfect go at the Rocky Mountain Extreme Bull and Bronc Riding Challenge Friday evening at Majestic Valley Arena.
The Trego cowboy won the first go with a 77-point ride on a nasty bronc called Not So Nice. He followed that with an 81 on War Party in the short go.
"You train your body and it reacts," Esch said.
"If you over think it, it will just get you in trouble."
In bull riding, 11 cowboys managed to post scores in the first go. Five advanced to the short round.
Cody Ford of Spokane turned in an 87-point ride to lead the first go. Matt Triplett of Columbia Falls was second with an 85.
Curry Fielder of Cody, Wyo., won the short go with an 83 on Orange Crush.
Action continues tonight at 7:30.
