Donald Dean Donneaud, 77, of Post Falls, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011, after an 18-month battle with cancer. He had loved ones by his side. Don was born on March 23, 1934, in Burton, Neb., to Agnes and Donald Donneaud.

Don moved with his parents and sister, Dorla, to the Post Falls area in 1937. He graduated from Post Falls High School in 1951.

After graduation, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Amarillo, Texas. There he worked as a jet engine instructor. Don married Sally Ann Barkuloo on Valentine's Day 1954. They made their home in Post Falls where they raised three children.

Don drove truck for Ace concrete, and then owned and operated the Post Falls cannery until 1970.

Don then took a job as maintenance supervisor at Kaiser Trentwood. He retired from Kaiser in 1992. Don and Sally enjoyed their retirement traveling with friends and family to many parts of Mexico. They finally settled in Bucerias, Mexico, and split their time between homes in Bucerias and Post Falls.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sally; his sister, Dorla (Morland) Neiman, of Plains, Mont.; daughters Daurice (Sheldon) Weir, of Fort MacLeod, Alberta, Lisa (Pat) Fehling, of Coeur d'Alene; son Jeff; seven grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Post Falls Community Presbyterian Church with a luncheon reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Don's name to the Post Falls Community Presbyterian Church, Hospice of North Idaho, or the charity of their choice.
