Edwin George Dahl, Jr., 89, passed away in Coeur d'Alene on Sunday, July 17, 2011. Edwin was born in Coeur d'Alene on Dec. 8, 1921, to Amzel M. and Edwin G. Dahl, Sr. He married Betty Worley on December 1, 1946, in Coeur d'Alene, and the couple had three daughters. He was a lifetime resident of the Coeur d'Alene area.
Edwin, who was better known as George, served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He worked for the Idaho Department of Highways and built homes with his father before working for Kootenai Electric Co-op as a lineman. He retired from K.E.C. in 1983.
George was an avid sportsman who hunted deer and elk with his friends in his prime. He also hunted pheasants, and fished with Betty on Hayden Lake, Coeur d'Alene Lake, and Pend Oreille Lake.
He is survived by his three daughters: Candy Thompson of Marysville, Wash, Stephanie Wallace of Lynnwood, Wash., and Leslie Koep of Pasco, Wash. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, in 2000.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, at Riverview Cemetery, 1001 Lincoln Way in Coeur d'Alene.
