It's time to sit down and talk it out.
Coeur d'Alene City Council member Mike Kennedy will be mediating a formal discussion at 5:30 tonight between Fresh Start and neighbors who have complained about its clients.
"I really envision it as a neighborhood meeting with Fresh Start, to keep trying to work out the situation and fix the problems that exist down there," Kennedy said.
The meeting at City Hall will also include representatives from the city police, fire and legal department to answer any related questions, he said.
Businesses and individuals who neighbor Fresh-Start, a drop-in center that provides services for homeless individuals, have complained that it is bringing a bad crowd to the area that is impacting businesses and making some feel harassed.
Kennedy couldn't say that a decision would be made.
"I don't know if there is a decision to be made," he said.
Rather, the goal is to discuss the issues and try to negotiate a solution, he said.
"It's going to be one of many (meetings)," he said. "I shouldn't expect a solution on Wednesday."
