MATTAWA - Recalling the celebration of days gone by, lifetime Mattawa resident Maggie Celaya is spearheading an effort to revive Mattawa Community Day.

"We haven't had a community day in five years or more," she said. "We need something to bring people together."

The 2011 Mattawa Community Day has been scheduled for August 27 in Hund Memorial Park. It will include a parade at 11 a.m.

Persons who would like to participate in the parade may call Celaya a 830-7117 or Anita Brown at Tiddaly Diddaly's at 932-5020.

Celaya is looking for volunteers to help organize Mattawa Community Day. She is also looking for non-profit organizations interested having food, game or informational booths.
