Amanda Milliard, of Columbia Falls, was named to the dean's list at Montana State University-Billings for the 2011 spring session.

Deborah Mensch, of West Glacier, graduated from Oregon State University in June with a master's of science in science education.

Christopher Evans, Tavia Fields, Beth Karper and Amanda Chapman, of Columbia Falls, were named to the spring 2011 dean's List at Eastern Washington University.

Uphill skiers need to be aware of avalanches on Big Mtn.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
