The community pool has been swimming with kids of all ages this week with the summer heat finally arriving.

Parents sit in the shade and read while the kids lay in the water for hours.

The temperatures have been into the 80’s and the city pool has been the perfect place for kids to cool down.  As far as the weather reports say it should stay sunny and warm for the rest of the week with a late thunderstorm later this afternoon.

The pool is busy with swimming lessons, free, open and family swim, as well as aerobics and parent toddler swim lessons.

There are eight life guards working in shifts.

The pool is open Monday through Friday with the following schedule, from 8 to 9 a.m. for adult lap swim.  From 9 a.m. to noon swimming lessons are held. From noon to 1:15 p.m. another adult lap swim is in session then from 1:15 to 5 p.m. for open swim.  From 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. is family swim time. On Saturdays the pool is open from 1:15 to 5:45 p.m. for open swim and it is closed on Sundays.

For more information, call city hall at 267-3105.
