JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Returner Jeff Hughley scored on the opening kickoff and quarterbacks Aaron Garcia and Omar Jacobs combined for eight touchdown passes as the Jacksonville Sharks defeated the Spokane Shock 75-56 in the Arena Football League regular-season finale for both in front of 10,025 on Friday night at Veterans Memorial Arena.

Spokane (9-9) quickly regrouped and scored on its first possession with an 11-yard pass from quarterback Kyle Rowley to Randy Hymes. Shock coach Rob Keefe elected to go for a two-point drop kick that kicker Taylor Rowan converted - the first in team history - to give Spokane an 8-7 lead.

The Shock scored on its next four possessions. Jacksonville (14-4) kept pace matching each of those scores with touchdown passes from Garcia, the former Washington State quarterback.

Spokane quarterback Kyle Rowley was pulled in the third quarter, after completing 23 of 36 passes for 251 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. Rookie Steven Sheffield completed 11 of 16 passes with three touchdowns for Spokane.

Greg Orton had eight catches for 119 yards and three touchdowns for Spokane, which travels to Arizona on Friday in the opening round of the AFL National Conference playoffs at 5 p.m.

Jacksonville will face either Georgia or Orlando in the American Conference playoffs Friday.
