Suspects sought for Soap Lake shooting

SOAP LAKE — Two 18-year-old men are sought by

the Grant Count Sheriff’s Office in connection with the shooting

death of an 18-year-old Soap Lake man today.

Alfredo L. Silva, 18, Soap Lake, and Juan D.

Silva, 18, Soap Lake, are suspected to be responsible for the

shooting of one man and the stabbing of two others, stated Grant

County Sheriff Tom Jones.

The stabbing victims were treated and release

from a nearby hospital, Jones stated. They are 18 and 19 years

old.

The Silvas are sought on suspicion of murder

in the second degree and two counts of assault in the first

degree.

“Both are considered to be armed and

dangerous,” Jones stated. “Anyone who knows their whereabouts

should call 9-1-1 immediately.”

One dies in canal accident near Ephrata

EPHRATA – Kevin Kershaw, 55, of Yakima was attempting to drive his 2025 GMC Sierra on the canal road when he attempted to turn around and lost control of the vehicle Thursday. The vehicle slid into the canal and Kershaw was found deceased downstream from the vehicle.
