PHOENIX - Former Spokane quarterback Nick Davila completed 15 of 24 passes for 167 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Arizona Rattlers past the Shock 62-33 in the opening round of the National Conference playoffs, ending the defending Arena Football League champions' season in front of 7,105 at the US Airways Center.

Spokane has won three AFL titles in five years of existence between the AFL and now defunct AF2 developmental league, but hadn't played a road playoff game until Friday's game.

Spokane took an early lead as Randy Hymes caught a 21-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Rowley with 4:57 remaining in the first quarter.

Arizona (17-2) took its first lead on 6-yard touchdown pass from Davila to Jason Geathers and closed out the first half with a 21-13 lead as Davila found Glen Fox on a 2-yard pass with nine seconds remaining in the half. The teams combined for five first-half turnovers.

Spokane rallied to within 35-26 as Greg Orton caught a 35-yard touchdown pass from Rowley early in the fourth quarter.

Arizona scored 27 of the final 34 points in the fourth quarter as Kevin McCullough and Marquis Floyd each returned an interception for a touchdown.

Arizona will host Chicago in the National Conference championship game next week. Chicago beat Dallas 54-51 earlier on Friday.
