Lakeland School District honors employees

Sherry Bell of Lakeland Junior High was recently chosen the Lakeland School District's Teacher of the Year by the board of trustees.
Bell was honored during the district's fifth annual awards banquet at The Coeur d'Alene Resort.
Fonda Stewart of John Brown Elementary was named Elementary Teacher of the Year.
Retirees who were honored included: Steve Rasor, Spirit Lake Elementary principal; Sally Hughes, Lakeland Junior High; Michelle Mikelson, elementary librarian; Jeanette Tallent, Spirit Lake Elementary; Elizabeth Fox, John Brown Elementary; Doreen Libera, John Brown Elementary; Claudia Ebel, Lakeland High School; Dee Notter, STRIVE Program; and Bill Solum, maintenance.
Superintendent's Legacy Award recipients included: Shana Hostetler, Betty Kiefer Elementary; Chad Parson, Lakeland Technology; Justin Graupman, Lakeland Technology; and Ron Schmidt, Lakeland Joint School District administrative office.
Star Performance Award recipients included: B.J. DeAustin, Garwood Elementary principal; and Alaina Palmer, Garwood Elementary.
About 200 employees and their spouses attended the banquet.
