POST FALLS - Kurt South had an RBI in the first inning and doubled to score Darnell Metcalf in the fourth as the Prairie Cardinals defeated Sandpoint 4-2 in a class AA North Idaho League game Tuesday at Post Falls High.

"Our pitching did really well tonight," Prairie coach Dustin Frank said. "We had 10 strikeouts as a team, and whenever you have 10, you're doing good."

Dylan Charbenneau struck out five in three innings and Tony Davidson had four strikeouts in three innings of relief for Prairie.

The two teams will face off again today at 5 at Post Falls High.
