MATTAWA - The Mattawa Area Multicultural Chamber of Commerce had its annual Business Education and Awareness Tour on Saturday, May 21, and most excited about the day was tour director Lois Thiede of the Chamber.
"I ended the tour and evening thinking how, when we realize how impressive some of our local businesses are, our sense of community pride really grows," she said.
"It was a very good tour," she added. "The dinner was delicious and fun."
The tour started at noon at the Sagebrush Senior Center in Desert Aire. The tour participants boarded a Wahluke School District bus for the ride to six different stops.
The tour made stops at Eckenberg Farms, Wahluke Produce, Rallito de Luna tortilla factory, Wahluke schools, the Wahluke Wine Company and the Gingko Forest Winery and Distillery.
After the tour, the participants enjoyed a tri-tip steak dinner at the Sagebrush Senior. It attracted about 45 people.
