COEUR d'ALENE - A 32-year-old Coeur d'Alene man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of child enticing for allegedly approaching a grandmother and offering money for her two granddaughters.
Coeur d'Alene police said Shan A. Anderson, aka Shane Anderson, was arrested on the 1000 block of North Third Street about 3:30 p.m.
Sgt. Todd Hedge declined to provide the girls' ages, but said both are under 16. Police also declined to say how much money was offered for the girls.
During the course of the investigation, officers learned of a second incident, at the same location that occurred a few minutes earlier when Anderson allegedly attempted to lure a boy who was walking home from school.
Hedge said the boy also was under 16 years old.
Anderson was taken to Kootenai County jail, but he bonded out later in the day.
Police said he was charged with attempted child enticing, disturbing the peace, and attempted child custodial interference.
Court records show that Anderson was sentenced to 180 days in jail when he was 16 after being convicted of lewd conduct with an 11-year-old in Kootenai County. That incident involved genital on genital contact, documents said.
Anderson also was arrested in February 2009 for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia; and in July 2008 for obstructing an officer, littering and urinating in public. He had earlier arrests for DUI and having an invalid driver's license; robbery; and petit theft, according to court documents.
