HAYDEN LAKE - The death of a 62-year-old Seattle man found on the English Point trail system north of Hayden Lake on Wednesday night is not suspicious, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Department.
The man was identified on Thursday afternoon as Paul A. Prescott.
An autopsy was performed Thursday and results are pending.
"There's no signs of foul play," KCSD Lt. Stu Miller said. "It looks like he died from natural causes, but we can't confirm that yet."
The reporting party was riding a horse on the English Point trail system in the area of English Point Road and Lancaster and came upon the face-down male.
He was on what is called the "Yellow Trail" - about a 4-mile loop - and he was back about 2 miles, Miller said.
The reporting parting called 911 and the KCSD and Northern Lakes Fire and Rescue responded at 6:55 p.m. No one else was at the scene.
Miller said Prescott's vehicle was recovered at the trailhead.
An investigation continues.
