1935-2011

Charles Kimball, 75, of Coeur d’Alene, wonderful husband, father and very special grandpa (Papa, Pops and the Great One) went to be with Jesus his Savior on June 2, 2011. Charles was born Nov. 17, 1935, in New York City.

He lived in many different parts of the East Coast until he met the love of his life, Donna (Ewan) Kimball 46 years ago. They married and moved to Glendora, Calif., where he lived for 30 years. Chuck was a wonderful provider for his family, he worked driving an 18-wheeler around Los Angeles for many years before retiring.

After retiring he moved to Coeur d’Alene 16 years ago to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He then worked with his wife for many years doing merchandising and odd jobs just to keep busy. He loved working on cars and was a brilliant mechanic who could fix anything on a car. He also truly enjoyed motorcycle riding in the deserts of California and would ride for hours and hours with his good friend Forrie.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Donna Kimball; his son, Ken Kimball and daughter Kim Maxwell. The lights of his life, grandchildren Katie Kimball and Jacob Kimball, as well as, Ned Hughes and his wife Lisa, and their children Jackson and Cheyenne. Brother-in-law Buzz Ewan of North Carolina and niece Patti Sue Hale and family of Houston, Texas. His special friends, Forrie and Jean Reynard and their children Renee and Randy.

To honor his wishes no services will be held. He wanted to go out of this world in a simple way. We were all so very blessed to have Charles Kimball as our husband, father and grandfather. He truly loved all of us so very much and we are proud to have had the privilege of having him in our lives.
