Althea Joan Foote, 88, passed away at By the Lake Assisted Living in Hayden on Saturday, June 4, 2011.
Joan was born in Grand Forks, British Columbia, Canada, on Sept. 4, 1922, to Tony and Dorothy (Greeno) Petersen.
Joan married James A. Foote on Sept. 30, 1946, in Grand Forks, British Columbia, Canada.
She was in the Canadian Women's Army Corp., also known as a Quack. She later moved from Sandpoint in 1962 to Coeur d'Alene.
Joan was a member of the Presbyterian church and a member of Beta Sigma Phi, 3Cs and Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by two children: Jim (Gayle) Foote of Coeur d'Alene and Jody Foote of Coeur d'Alene; three grandchildren: Tara Foote of Portland, Ore., Meagan Foote and Lisa Foote of Coeur d'Alene.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband, James on April 18, 1983; her son, Tony W. Foote on May 1, 1985, and brother Alfred Petersen on July 9, 2001.

The Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2011, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene. English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene, is in charge of the arrangements.
