After 21 years of serving Boundary County School District No. 101, Ted Reynolds is moving on to another high school.

The Bonners Ferry High School athletic director since 2003, decided he should protect himself and his family after the first levy failed in March. He began to look at other schools around Idaho.

Reynolds started as a teacher and Badger football coach at the  high school.

About a month ago, he got a call from Middleton High School near Boise, and he was told he was hired.

“I It is a brand new $52 million school, and opens for the first time in August,” said Reynolds.

He will be the high school’s new athletic director. He and his wife Lori will be relocating this summer.

“I enjoyed working here and I was thankful for the opportunity for my kids to grow up here and to go through the school system here,” he said.

Reynolds said he will be visiting from time to time, as he has made several friendships.

“I will miss the mountains, the springs, and the people,” he said.  “I was hoping to retire here, but circumstances require me to take care of my family.”
