SPOKANE - Former Eastern Washington quarterback Erik Meyer threw for seven touchdowns and 332 yards as the Spokane Shock defeated the Philadelphia Soul 75-54 on Friday night in Arena Football League play before 8,972 at the Spokane Arena, and a national television audience, on Friday night.

Spokane (5-8), which snapped a two-game losing streak with a season high in points scored, jumped out to an early 20-0 lead as Meyer, in his first AFL start, hit receiver Markee White on touchdown passes of 1 and 15 yards. White returned from injury on Friday to catch six passes for 62 yards and three touchdowns.

Philadelphia (5-8) rallied to tie the game as Larry Brackens scored on a 15-yard pass from Ryan Vena to make it 34-34 with 12:49 to go in the third quarter.

Antwan Marsh scored on a 3-yard run to give Spokane a 41-34 lead with 6:42 remaining in the third.

Leading 41-34, Spokane shifted the momentum as Beau Bell intercepted a pass by Ryan Vena and returned it 19 yards for a touchdown at the end of the third quarter. Following the kickoff, the Shock struck again as Ruschard Dodd-Masters intercepted another Vena pass for a touchdown to put Spokane on top 55-34 with 14:43 remaining in the game.

Spokane hosts Chicago next Saturday at the Spokane Arena.
