COEUR d'ALENE - John Howard had five RBIs as the host Coeur d'Alene Loggers won the second game of a North Idaho League doubleheader 19-1 after the Cardinals won the first game 3-2 on Saturday in class A North Idaho League play at McEuen Field.

Surge Kedia had five strikeouts and allowed two hits and Kolby DeHaas hit a two-run home run in the first game for Coeur d'Alene.

Shawn Montee had a three-run triple in the third inning for Coeur d'Alene (5-4, 1-1), which travels to Moscow on Monday for a doubleheader.

ST. MARIES - Coeur d'Alene pitcher Devin Kluss struck out eight and had two hits and two RBIs as the Lumberjacks defeated St. Maries 10-8 to advance to the championship game of the St. Maries Wood Bat Tournament.

"We're looking for another big win tomorrow after having a solid weekend," said Coeur d'Alene coach Aaron Drake, whose team is 3-0 in the tourney.

Logan Brastrup hit a two-run double in the first inning and finished with three RBIs for Coeur d'Alene (8-2), which faces Lewiston in the championship game today at noon.

Coeur d'Alene defeated Silver Valley 8-3 in pool play earlier on Saturday, as the Lumberjacks walked 11 times and had four hits.

Bryson Peterson had two hits for Coeur d'Alene. Justin Karst had two hits for Silver Valley.
