July 25, 1918 - June 7, 2011

Jean Mary VanSice was born in Helena, Mont. She attended Helena High School, then Montana State University in Bozeman, graduating in 1939. She married Eugene F. Berry, also of Helena, in 1940. They had six children, spending 28 years in Blackfoot.

Jean was active at various times in League of Women's Voters, PEO, Eastern Star and was a member of DAR. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Following her husband's death in 1990, she lived in Boise, Coeur d'Alene and Oregon City. She died at age 92.

She is survived by her brother, Robert VanSice; daughter Betty (Brent) McMullin and son Doug (Patricia); 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Gene Berry, and daughters Mary Webb, Sally Collard, Susan Martin and Jane Berry.
