Pauline Russell/Kelly, 98

After living a long full life, Pauline Russell/Kelly, 98, peacefully passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at her place of residence, Four Seasons in Coeur d'Alene.

She was born to the late Paul and Edna Golm, April 22, 1913, in Spokane. Polly graduated from Odessa, Wash., high school in 1931. She graduated from Kinmen Business College in Spokane. She married Glen Russell in 1935. They began their married life, first in Spokane and later relocated to Billings, Mont. In 1946 they moved to Harrison where Glen went into partnership with Polly's father, PJ Golm at the Harrison Trading Co.

Polly helped Glen in his store in Harrison and later became the City Clerk. She then worked as a secretary with the Russell Lumber Co. in Springston and later for Chase Chevrolet in Saint Maries. Polly then worked for many years with the State of Idaho Forrest Service, first in Saint Marries and later in Coeur d'Alene.

After the death of Glen, she married Horace Kelly in Coeur d'Alene. Together they enjoyed traveling to Europe, New Zealand, Australia and many places in the U.S.

Polly will be missed by her two sons, Loren Russell of Bemidji, Minn., and Rollin Russell of Post Falls; her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She will be best remembered for her sense of humor, her independent spirit and her loyalty and love for her family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
