Second half property taxes due by June 20

Boundary County TreasurerJennifer Fessler reminds Boundary County taxpayers that the deadline for paying the second half of 2010 property taxes without late charge is Monday, June 20.  

After June 20,  a 2 percent late charge is applied and interest of one percent per month is added, retroactive to Jan. 1, 2011.

Taxes can be paid by telephone with a credit card through the treasurer’s office, 208-267-3291.

The treasurer’s office is located at the Boundary County Courthouse at 6452 Kootenai Street in downtown Bonners Ferry. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Payments may be mailed to Boundary County Treasurer’s Office, P. O. Box 218, Bonners Ferry, ID  83805. 

Payments that are mailed must be postmarked by June 20, to avoid the late charge and interest.

 Also, taxes may be paid directly to Official Payments Corporation, 1-877-203-6083.  People will be asked to enter their bill number, a daytime phone number, year of tax bill paying, amount paying and  credit card information.

There is a convenience fee for these credit card services that is charged to credit card at time of payment that goes to the credit card company.
