Post Falls has become the first city in the state to partner with IdahoGoes, the consortium of five Idaho colleges that offer courses and programs in North Idaho.

Banners promoting IdahoGoes will be displayed along Seltice Way and Spokane Street.

"We are pleased to help bring awareness to our community about the benefits of colleges and universities in our area," Post Falls Mayor Clay Larkin said. "Our partnership and these banners demonstrate our commitment to higher education and its impact on the economic vitality of our region."

The Local Operations Council overseeing the consortium provided the banners to commemorate the city's new partnership with IdahoGoes.

IdahoGoes includes North Idaho College, Lewis-Clark State College, University of Idaho, Boise State University and Idaho State University. They are partnering to raise awareness in the region about educational opportunities in the five northern counties.

"North Idaho communities recognize the power and potential of partnerships," said Cyndie Hammond, Lewis-Clark State College executive director for Coeur d'Alene and Region 1 and chair of the Local Operations Council.

"Post Falls chose to visibly demonstrate its commitment to education, training, and economic development. This is wonderful."

The collaboration between IdahoGoes and the city will be highlighted on Larkin's "Post Falls Today" show on City Cable Channel 13 for the week of June 28. It will be available as video on demand at http://www.postfallsidaho.org/mayor.html.
