ROYAL CITY - Royal High School junior Lindsey Christensen has qualified for the Future Business Leaders of America national conference and will attend the event in Orlando, Fla. later this month.

The national FBLA conference is not new to Christensen. She qualified last year as a sophomore.

To qualify for nationals, students must place in the top 2 in their specialty event in their state. Christensen placed second in Washington in FBLA principles and procedures. She made it in word processing as a sophomore.

Last year, Christensen attended the national conference in Nashville, Tenn. She was accompanied by Royal FBLA chapter-mates Macey Stakkeland and Candy Peraza.

Christensen is the lone Royal qualifier this year. She will be accompanied by her uncle Pete Christensen, who is the chapter advisor.

Royal High sent nine students to the state convention this year. They earned the right by making the top 5 at regionals in their events.

There are 64 events from which to choose. There will be 7,500 students at nationals.
