Montana State University football recruit Connor Thomas was dismissed on Monday from the football program by MSU head coach Rob Ash.
Thomas, a recent Flathead High graduate, had signed a letter of intent in the spring.
According to a short press release from Montana State, the dismissal stems from a violation of the university and athletic department code of conduct.
Two counts of felony distribution of drugs were filed last Thursday against Thomas - for allegedly giving marijuana-laced brownies to others before the June 4 all-night Crosstown Craz graduation party at The Summit in Kalispell.
Thomas - a 4.0 student, one of Flathead's valedictorians and an athlete who excelled in football, wrestling and track - was arrested and released after several other party attendees exhibited signs of intoxication, according to police.
According to court documents, two 17-year-old boys identified Thomas as the person who made and sold the brownies.
