Adrian Gonzalez drove in three runs with a single and double in a 10-run seventh inning against his former team and the host Boston Red Sox rolled to a 14-5 win over the struggling San Diego Padres on Monday night.

Gonzalez boosted his major league-leading RBI total to 67 since the Padres, unable to give him a lucrative contract, traded him to the Red Sox in the offseason for three top prospects. He went 3 for 5 to increase his batting average to .353, also the best in the majors.

Rangers 8, Astros 3: At Arlington, Texas, Adrian Beltre had a pair of RBI singles among his three hits, Josh Hamilton hit a two-run triple off the wall and Texas opened the Lone Star Series with a victory over the Houston.

The AL West leaders scored in each of the first three innings, quickly settling back in at home after a 3-7 road trip wrapped a stretch of playing 17 of 20 games on the road.

Cubs 6, White Sox 3: Carlos Zambrano kept his cool this time after a tough first inning, Carlos Pena hit a three-run homer and Starlin Castro drove in three runs as the host Cubs rallied to beat the White Sox in a battle of Chicago teams.

Braves 2, Blue Jays 0: Tim Hudson pitched eight scoreless innings and hit his second career home run in host Atlanta's win over Toronto.

Yankees 5, Reds 3: Alex Rodriguez keyed a four-run first with an RBI single and rookie Ivan Nova handled the NL's most prolific offense for eight innings, leading New York at Cincinnati.

The Yankees have won nine of 11, moving a season-best 13 games over .500 at 42-29.

Orioles 8, Pirates 3: Nick Markakis had three hits and Jake Arrieta moved into a tie for the American League lead in wins as visiting Baltimore pounded Pittsburgh.

Rockies 8, Indians 7: Jason Giambi's gigantic three-run homer in Colorado's six-run fifth inning off Fausto Carmona sent the visiting Rockies over Cleveland.

Angels 2, Marlins 1: At Miami, Jered Weaver pitched seven innings and Los Angeles spoiled 80-year-old Jack McKeon's return to the dugout as Florida tied a franchise record with its 11th consecutive loss.

Rays 8, Brewers 4: Jeff Niemann tossed six scoreless innings in his return from a back injury, Evan Longoria homered and Tampa Bay won at Milwaukee.

Dodgers 4, Tigers 0: Clayton Kershaw threw a two-hitter for his third career shutout and complete game and host Los Angeles beat Detroit.
