Arnold Davidson, 83

Arnold "Dave" Bertyl Davidson, 83, passed away suddenly on April 13, 2010. He was born on Nov. 27, 1926, in Potlatch, Idaho.
He leaves behind his wife of 43 years Ellen (Berschied Shinn) Davidson and daughters, Mrs. Linda (Shinn) Davis and husband Donald, Dot (Shinn) Lieberman, and Teresa (Shinn) Collins and husband Andy; along with 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son-in-law Alan Lieberman, grandson Daniel Lee Lieberman and son Homer James Shinn III.
Arnold attended Potlatch and Coeur d'Alene high schools before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1945, where he became a military policeman. Upon completing his service, Arnold attended North Idaho College, the University of Idaho and UCLA, Westwood, Calif.
After retiring as a logistics specialist for the Civil Service aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, he and his wife traveled the continental U.S. and Canada.
Arnold enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and summering in Cocolalla with daughter Linda and son-in-law Donald.
Services will be held at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, in Medical Lake, Wash., at 11:15 a.m. today.
In celebration of Dave's life, a potluck will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday June 25, 2011, at Don and Linda Davis' residence, at 15 Steep Lane, in Cocolalla.
