Georgine (Genee) Christman Larsen was born June 4, 1931, in Superior, Wis. She passed away June 20, 2011, at Life Care Center of Coeur d'Alene. Genee was the daughter of George and Alice (Holt) Christman. After graduating from Auburn Academy, she met Raymond Larsen. They married in Redfield, S.D., on her birthday in 1950 and spent 61 years together.

In the early years of their marriage, Genee and Ray lived at Deadwood Gulch in Kellogg. Genee sold Avon and then attended North Idaho Jr. College. She took business classes and became quite proficient in taking shorthand. In 1960, the family moved to Coeur d'Alene and Genee began working for Dr. Novak as receptionist and office manager.

In 1968, Genee started working at Sunset Terrace as office manager. While there, she earned her Nursing Home Administrator's License. Genee worked there until her retirement as assistant administrator.

She loved people, and made friends easily. Genee was the true definition of a People Person. She took Dale Carnegie's Course on How-to Win Friends and Influence People, but she didn't need it. People were drawn to her and she genuinely loved people. She was a problem-solver and people knew she would help them in any way that she could. Everyone was welcome in her home. All extended family dinners, holidays, and events were held at Genee and Ray's home. The more the merrier! If Genee enjoyed doing something, she wouldn't stop until everyone else was included in the fun.

Until her illness, Genee was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Genee is survived by her husband, Raymond, her daughter Geraldine (Bob) Goode of Coeur d'Alene, her son Robin (Dianne) of Spokane, her sister Eileen Cox of Lewiston, her brother Richard (Eunice) Christman of Veradale, her grandchildren, Mike, Preston, Jason, Corey, and Ryan, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Duane, twin sister Geraldine, and sister Betty Larsen. Genee was greatly loved and will be missed by her family and friends.

Memorials may be made to Three Angels Broadcasting Network. Viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 24, at Yates Funeral Home Coeur d'Alene Chapel. Funeral services have been set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Coeur d'Alene Adventist Church, 111 Locust Avenue.
