Hilma Sadie Shanley, 86, entered into rest Saturday, June 18, 2011, at LaCrosse Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Hilma was born April 19, 1925, in Harrison to Victor Swan and Susan Jane (Daly) Peterson.
Hilma graduated from Harrison High School in 1944 out of a class of six students, she loved playing basketball, Glee Club, paper staff and babysitting for her older brothers and sisters.
Hilma married George "Red" Shanley on June 11, 1945, in Coeur d'Alene, and raised their three sons. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, her flower gardens and especially all the family gatherings, picnics, and reunions with her brothers, sisters and especially her immediate family.
Hilma is preceded in death by her husband, George "Red;" her brothers and sisters, John Prosch, Charles "Pete" Peterson, Oscar Peterson, and Charlotte Moreland.
Hilma is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Kay Shanley, Trout Creek, Mont.; Tim Shanley, Tacoma, Wash.; Bob and Vicki Shanley, Hayden; sister, Lil Chambers, Springfield, Ore.; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Peterson, Hayden, and Joyce Peterson, Coeur d'Alene; grandchildren, Todd Provancha, Everett, Wash.; Eric Shanley, Dalton Gardens; Bart Provancha, Rathdrum; Jason Shanley, Coeur d'Alene; Brenda Shanley Savage, Liberty Lake, Wash.; Jennifer Zimmerman, W. Richland, Wash.; Amy Bishop, Hayden, and 19 great-grandchildren.
