Flathead Valley Community College raised $1,500 for Flathead Valley Habitat for Humanity during a shed raffle fundraiser they held this spring.
The winner of the shed was Duane Dierenfield of Kalispell.
Members of the Flathead Valley Community College Campus Corps, students and community members came together in April to construct an 8-by-12 shed for a raffle to benefit the Flathead habitat chapter. The organizations works to provide affordable housing for low-income Flathead Valley residents living in substandard housing.
“We at Habitat for Humanity would like to thank the staff and students from the college for supporting our efforts of eliminating substandard housing in the Flathead Valley, said Kevin Ries, Flathead Valley Habitat for Humanity programs director.
“As expected, the shed turned out great, and we look forward to partnering with FVCC throughout our project in Columbia Falls this summer.”
Local businesses that provided donations for the project include Glacier Steel Roofing Products, Parkside Federal Credit Union, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Qdoba and Starbucks.
