Grant Curtis allowed three runs over six innings as the Coeur d'Alene Lumbermen defeated the Spokane Cannons 4-3 at McEuen Field before falling to the Club Spokane Dodgers 9-3 at Central Valley High to conclude the Best of the Northwest wood-bat tournament on Saturday.

Curtis, Pete Hoffman and Matt Cade had RBIs in the third inning against the Spokane Cannons for Coeur d'Alene.

"It was a nice clean game and really fun to watch," Coeur d'Alene coach Lloyd Duman said. "Grant made them put the ball in play and we got some outs."

Colin Comack struck out the only batter he faced to earn the save for Coeur d'Alene.

In the quarterfinal game, Travis Key and Andrew Ely had two hits apiece as the Dodgers eliminated the Lumbermen.

"It was nice to face a team with good pitching," said Duman of the Dodgers. "Playing in this tournament really helps us out because we usually see good pitching all week and it gives us a chance to see teams that we don't usually play."

Derek Priano had two hits and scored a run for Coeur d'Alene (20-11), which hosts the Yakima Beetles in a single game on Monday at 6 p.m. at McEuen Field.
