On your way to having fun on the water for the Fourth and the rest of summer also remember to do your part to keep invasive species such as mussels out of the state.

All 15 of the state's mandatory watercraft inspection stations are now open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week.

Stations began opening in March and about 10,000 boats have been inspected. The Idaho State Department of Agriculture has intercepted 18 fouled boats this year, half of which were destined for Idaho waters.

Local stations include: eastbound Interstate-90 at Huetter, on Highway 53 just inside the state line, westbound I-90 near Wallace, Oldtown and Samuels.

What has been your experience at these stations and what are your thoughts on the program overall?
