Pattis helps Lums sweep Cranbrook

CRANBROOK, British Columbia - Jason Pattis took a perfect game into the fifth inning before TJ Bone singled in the second game as the Coeur d'Alene Lumbermen swept the Cranbrook Bandits 13-7 and 12-0 in a class AA North Idaho League doubleheader on Tuesday at Confederation Park.

Colin Comack hit a three-run home run in an eight-run fifth inning for Coeur d'Alene in the first game. Pattis had three hits, including two doubles and Christian Mayfield had a double and triple for Coeur d'Alene.

"We finally came to life in the fifth inning," Coeur d'Alene coach Lloyd Duman said. "Comack's shot really got us going."

Pattis finished with five strikeouts in the second game for Coeur d'Alene (22-11, 9-1).

"Jason was pitching very confident tonight," Duman said. "It was really nice to see."

Taylor Combo had two RBIs for Coeur d'Alene, which travels to Sandpoint on Thursday for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.

Cranbrook drops to 0-12 in league.

ROCKFORD, Wash. - Troy Carr had a double and triple and drove in three runs as the Bayview Whitecaps defeated the Prairie Pride in a class AA Spokane League game at Freeman High on Tuesday.

"We hit the ball really well and played good defense," Bayview coach Kim Rogstad said. "That was a key for us."

Dustin Ceballos had a two-run single in the first inning for Bayview (11-2, 7-1 league), which opens the Spokane-Coeur d'Alene wood bat tournament on Friday at Cheney High against Rogers at 10 a.m. and Cheney at 3:30 p.m.

COEUR d'ALENE - Sean Sutton hit two home runs in the first game and doubled in the second for the Coeur d'Alene Loggers, who dropped a class A North Idaho League doubleheader at McEuen Field.

Sutton hit a two-run home run in a five run fourth inning and also hit a solo shot in the fifth, and Jesse O'Hagan had three RBIs and Sam Fortis, Brett Robbins and John Howard had two RBIs apiece for Coeur d'Alene.

Leif Krapas hit a solo home run in the second game for Coeur d'Alene (15-19, 3-5 NIL), which faces Silver Valley on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Lake City High to open the Spokane-Coeur d'Alene wood bat tournament.
