Freddie Merritt Andrews (Bud), 74, of Rathdrum, went to be with our Lord Jesus on June 30, 2011, after a short courageous battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 16, 1936, in Wapato, Wash., to Merritt and Freda (Fish) Andrews.
Bud moved to the Spirit Lake/Rathdrum area in 1940. He held many different occupations from law dog to logger. He was well-known as Andrews Logging. He coached little league for many years in Spirit Lake. His passions included fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother; father; brothers, Edward and Vernon; and sisters, Violet and Betty.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Penni Andrews of Rathdrum; sisters, Dorothy Hatch of Amity, Ore., and Bernice Fallis of Oldtown; children, Lori (Arkie) Gibson of Post Falls, Debra Andrews of Otis Orchards, Wash., Nance Knudtson of Federal Way, Wash., Teri (Laune) Clem of Coeur d'Alene, Kennita Ziebro of Bonney Lake, Wash., SueAnna Andrews of Rathdrum, Merritt Jr. (Paula) Andrews of Blanchard and Russell (Judy) Andrews of Athol. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011, at North Country Chapel, 2281 W. Seltice Way, Post Falls.
